is a fan of tackle trivia.

Education:
Student, Animal Health Technology Program

Current job :
Kennel Assistant, Port Coquitlam Animal Hospital

My Pet is :
6-year-old Chihuahua named Maya

Career goals:
To specialize in emergency/critical care. I would also love to be part of a non-profit organization that provides veterinary care to under-serviced/disaster-stricken communities.

My must-visit web site:
petfinder.com. It is so sad to see how many great animals need homes, but I just can't help myself.

A well-rounded experience

I chose this program because I get to be not only a nurse, but a dental hygienist, x-ray tech, lab tech, behaviorist, nutritionist and an anaesthesiologist. Also because I love animals, of course. I love all my little patients.

Good times

In our anatomy and physics class, our instructor came up with cool ways for us to study together. It started as musical chairs combined with trivia. Then it started to get physical and turned into tackle trivia.

It's all good

I love going to school. My friends who aren't in school don't really get it. I have made a decision not to go out all the time and it doesn't really bother me that much because this is what I want to do.

A certain kind of personality

Someone who says, "I want to play with puppies" doesn't really cut it. This program is very hands on. When you're actually present with a dog that has been hit by a car, you need to know what to do.

Consider this

I would tell anyone thinking about taking this program to get an idea of what the job is first. Animal Health Technology prepares us to work in different fields, not just in veterinary clinics. You're not going to be limited to working with small animals. There are so many options. And be prepared for your friends to ask you all kinds of questions about their pets.
