About me:
When I hang out with my friends we: are a geek force to be reckoned with!
My favourite play is whichever one I read last? Probably Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
My must-visit web site is www.craftzine.com.
The best thing about college
Meeting and getting to work with so many wonderful, creative people! Students, instructors, designers and directors alike, everyone was great to be around and work with. It was always fun to see what inventive solution was going to be dreamed up next.
My favourite instructor is
Christine Dewar. I loved going to class because she had such a passion and fire for what she taught, it was hard not to be enthusiastic with her.
What I didn't learn at school
Trust your own ability. When you're in school, you tend to wait for someone to tell you what you're doing is right, waiting for someone to show up to give you a mark. But once you're out there working you have to learn to use all your acquired knowledge to get the job done and have confidence in your work.
Speaking of inventive solutions
I remember one day where an inflated condom was used to visualize the differences between dynamic and capacitor microphones. I don't know if I'd call it crazy, but it was definitely unorthodox.
College taught me
Enjoy what you're doing. If you're working on a show or even just a project, if you don't love what you're doing it's not going to be half as interesting or fun as it should be. Especially when working with a team, keeping a positive attitude about the work can make all the difference.
