Policy Statement

The College is committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions and to promoting positive attitudes towards health and safety within the organization.

Procedures/Rules Statement

Guiding Principles:

  1. The Administration is responsible for providing a safe workplace and for establishing and maintaining adequate standards of maintenance of the site and equipment to ensure that physical and health hazards are guarded against or eliminated. The Administration is also responsible for developing and implementing work procedures conducive to a safe and healthy working environment.
  2. Administrative representatives and supervisors are responsible for ensuring that employees are adequately trained in proper work procedures; for enforcing safe work procedures and regulations; and for correcting unsafe work activities.
  3. All employees, subcontractors, facility users and students are required to work safely and conduct themselves in a safe manner, and to follow rules and regulations pertaining to safe work procedures and/or activities.
  4. All employees are expected to correct or to report unsafe conditions and activities, and to work co-operatively toward the prevention of accidents or injuries, thereby providing safe and healthy working conditions.
