UBC University Transfer
College Transfer
General Requirements
You may be considered for admission if you have completed, or are in the process of completing, 24 units (credits) of transferable course work, and may transfer up to a maximum of 60 units towards your degree program. Applicants presenting fewer than 24 transferable credits are evaluated on the basis of both final secondary school grades and the partial post-secondary studies completed. Unless otherwise prescribed by the program to which admission is sought, academic standing is based on the average on all college or university courses attempted.
The GPA required for admission can change from term to term; last year, the GPA required for admission ranged from 2.25 to 3.50 depending on the program. Your admission average is calculated on your most recent 30 transferable credits, including failures and repeated courses, unless otherwise prescribed by the program to which admission is sought. A transfer guide listing all first and second year transferable courses along with the UBC equivalent is available online at www.bctransferguide.ca. Courses not listed in the transfer guide are not transferable.
In addition to general and program-specific admission requirements all applicants are required to meet the English admission requirement English Language Admission Standard.
Associate Degree Holders
If you graduated with a BC Associate of Arts or Science degree recognized by the BC Ministry of Advanced Education, you will receive preference in admission.
- Transfer credit will be given for all 60 units, as a block transfer.
Faculty Requirements
In addition to the major program requirements, specific Faculty of Arts and Facutly of Science requirements should be considered while attending Douglas College.
