Important Dates and Deadlines
Fall 2009 Important Dates to Remember
| July 23 - August 7 |
Priority Registration for Fall 2009 |
| August 8 to 16 | Registration continues to be open for all students to continue adding and dropping courses. |
| August 10 |
ABESAP applications received by this date will be processed before the fee payment deadline. If you apply later, you will need to pay the fees yourself. When your application is processed, you may receive a refund of fees for your eligible courses. The final deadline for ABESAP applications is September 30, 2009. |
| August 10 |
International Students - Fees due and payable by 1600 hours. |
| August 12 to 19 |
Grades for Summer semester courses are received. Students currently enrolled in a Summer semester course that is a prerequisite may be deregistered from the subsequent course in the Fall semester if the prerequisite is not completed successfully. |
| August 16 |
Last day to drop a course and receive 100 % refund (no processing fee) |
| August 17 |
All fees due and payable by 1600 hours to avoid deregistration (cancellation of registration of all courses). Fee deferrals (PDF) are due by 1600 hours to avoid deregistration. |
| August 17 and 18 |
Registration and waitlisting system are closed (except for fee payments) to process fee payments and to deregister students who have not paid full fees or submitted a Fee Deferral. Students who have outstanding fees will be dropped from all courses and waitlists. |
| August 19 |
Registration System opens at 2000 hours for students who were not deregistered for non-payment of fees to continue to add and drop courses. |
| August 20 |
Registration System opens at 1600 hours for students who were deregistered for non-payment of fees to continue to add and drop courses. Additional fee assessments, as a result of course adds or drops during this period, are due and payable at the time of registration. |
| August 28 | Last day to withdraw completely and receive a 50 % refund for new international students. |
| September 3 |
All fees are due and payable to avoid deregistration of all unpaid courses. |
| September 7 | College Closed - Labour Day |
| September 7 |
Last day to drop a course and receive a 100 % refund. If all courses are dropped there is a $100 processing charge. |
| September 7 |
Check the Registration System to determine your position on the wait-list. If you are on the waitlist you must attend the first class. |
| September 8 | First day of the semester. |
| September 8 to 14 | Attendance in class - students who miss their first class and do not notify their instructors prior to the scheduled start of the second class may have their seat in that course given to another student. See Attendance statement for more information. |
| September 8 to 20 |
During Late Registration, the Registration System is open for you to:

Last day to change your status from credit to audit in person using an Add Course form. |
| September 20 |
Last day to drop a course on the Registration System and no "W" will appear on your permanent student record. Last day to withdraw and receive a 43% per credit refund. |
| September 22 |
Full fees must be paid to avoid late payment penalties and a registration hold on your account. |
| September 30 | Last day to apply for ABESAP Funding for Fall 2009. |
| September 30 | Last day to opt-out of Medical/Dental Plan. |
| October 1 |
Last day to apply for bursaries and awards for Winter 2010 Semester. |
| October 1 | Deadline to apply for transfer credit or update high school grades for Winter 2010 semester. |
| October 12 | College Closed - Thanksgiving Day |
| October 19 to 24 |
Mid-semester. Students may obtain mid-semester standing from instructors during this week in order to make decisions about dropping courses by the deadline below. |
| October 30 |
Deadline for students placed on academic probation from the Summer semester to meet with a Counsellor. Students who do not meet with a Counsellor by this date will be unable to access their records or register for future semesters. |
| November 8 |
Last day to withdraw from a course for the semester (for a 14-week course - shorter courses are pro-rated.) All course drops must be done on the Registration System. Students will receive a "W" on their permanent record. |
| November 11 |
College Closed - Remembrance Day |
| November 12 to 27 |
Priority Registration for Winter 2010. |
| December 8 |
Last day of classes. |
| December 10 to 18 |
Examination period. |
| December 11 to 22 |
Grades for Fall semester courses are received. |
