Suggestions

Your suggestions about faculty development are welcome!  This year, we have had many excellent suggestions from College employees:
  • August sessions for new faculty on College programs and services
  • A Making Groups Work in Your Classroom series
  • Workshops with Aboriginal elders on welcoming and supporting Aboriginal students
  • Open discussions on students' use of technology during class
  • A reading circle on The Reflective Practitioner, by Donald Schon
  • A Mini-Carnegie Scholars series with Richard Gale on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
  • A Best Lessons series, where faculty teach and then discuss with their colleagues a truncated version of one of their best lessons
  • Workshops in computer labs on technologies that can enhance classroom instruction
  • Sessions on getting started with hybrid and online course development
  • Sessions related to new technologies that lend themselves to post-secondary instruction.
