2011 - 2013

Class start and end dates may differ for students enrolled in limited enrolment programs. Please confirm dates with the appropriate program office.

FALL Semester 2011 (SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER)

Withdrawal and refund deadline dates only apply to courses that are 15 weeks in length (comprising instruction and final exams). Course deadline dates, where the course is less than a full Semester in length will be pro-rated. Some courses of less than 15 weeks are not eligible for any refund. (See Refund Schedule).

Sept 1

Applications open for Awards & Bursaries administered by Douglas College for Fall Semester.

Recommended deadline for applicants submitting foreign documents. Documents submitted after this date will be processed but students are advised to obtain pre-requisite waivers for courses in which they intend to enrol for Winter 2012.

Sept 1 – Nov 15

Applications or reapplications for Winter for General Admission programs will be processed but students will receive a late registration appointment time.

Sept 5

College closed – Labour Day.

Sept 6

All classes begin.  Late registration begins.

Sept 6 – 18

Refunds for course drops during this period are 43% per credit.

Sept 16

Last day to change from credit to audit status in a course.

Sept 18

Last day to drop a course without receiving a "W" on record (subsequent withdrawals receive a grade of "W").

Last day to add a course.

Sept 26

Deadline to apply for ABESAP funding for Fall Semester.

Sept 30

Deadline to apply for Winter 2012 Graduation (February) without a late fee.

Deadline for submission of applications from international students applying from overseas for the Winter Semester.

Oct 1

Deadline for Awards & Bursaries application administered by Douglas College for Fall Semester.

Deadline to apply for transfer credit to ensure credit has been recorded to meet course pre-requisites for Winter registration.

Oct 3 – Dec 15

Late Applications for Winter (February) 2012 graduation will be accepted with a late fee of $25.

Oct 10

College closed – Thanksgiving Day.

Oct 14

Deadline to apply for Part-time Grant funding for Fall Semester.

Oct 15

First day for submission of applications for students currently registered in Grade 12 who will graduate in June 2012.

Oct 17 – 22

Mid-Semester - students may obtain mid-Semester standing from instructors during this week in order to make decisions about dropping courses by the deadline below.

Oct 21

Student Services, Financial Aid, Office for New Students, and Registrar's Offices closed - all campuses.

Oct 28

Deadline for students placed on academic probation from the Summer Semester to meet with a Counselor.

Students who do not meet with a Counselor by this date, will be unable to access their records or register for future Semesters.

Nov 6

Last day to drop a course or completely withdraw from the College. (Student will receive a "W" on permanent record).

Nov 11

College Closed. Remembrance Day.

Nov 15 – Jan 17
