Business Management Department

The department and programs offered have been structured to allow students maximum flexibility in their business education. In the Business Management Diploma Program, a student develops a core of fundamental business knowledge and skills in the first year. In the second year, two options are available: General Business and Business Administration. The General Business option provides the greatest flexibility in course selection and allows a student to focus on a particular field of interest. The Business Administration option focuses more on the development of supervisory skills. A one-year General Business Certificate Program is also offered. Finally, a well-established Co-operative Education Program is available to offer students paid work experience in their field of study.

Most of the core courses in the Business Management Diploma Program offered in the first year are also part of the Accounting Management, Computing Science and Information Systems, Commerce and Business Administration, Financial Services Management and Marketing Management diplomas. Therefore, students can start their business education in the Business Management Diploma Program and then choose from the three options or switch into another diploma program in the second year with no loss of credit.
