Douglas College is proud to present 2012's Winter Youth programs. With 6 different camps to choose from, there is something for everyone.
Douglas College Youth Programs run from January 15 to March 18 (with exception to Table Tennis which runs till Mar 25) in New Westminster. No classes the weekend of January 21-22, 2012.

Badminton
The academy is run under the supervision of performance director Arif (Al) Mawani and assisted by certified coaches. Al is the head coach for both the national champion Douglas College badminton team and BC's provincial teams. Emphasis is on skill development. Players will be split into two gyms, by age and skill level.
Ages: 7-19 Cost: $100 Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Basketball
Hoop it up with college level players and coaches. This program teaches all phases of the game from passing, dribbling and shooting, to defense, rebounding and 1 on 1 moves. Learn from some top lower mainland basketball coaches. Take your game to the next level and get ready for the upcoming season with the Junior Royals Basketball Camp.
Ages: 8-15 Cost: $100 Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Computers 101
Exercise your brain with this weekly computer course. Participants will undertake mini-projects while learning how to create professional advertisements, fun greeting cards, newsletters, brochures, flyers and basic web pages. Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft FrontPage are just 3 of the programs students will be using.
Ages: 9-15 Cost: $100 Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Dance: Hip Hop and Jazz
A great way to stay active and meet new friends while learning the basics of hip hop and jazz dance. Students will be led through warm-up and stretch, basic hip hop movements and choreography, as well as dance games in a fun and safe environment. The Camp is suitable for beginners (0-3 years dance experience)f or both boys and girls.
Ages: 6-11 Cost: $100 Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Soccer
This academy provides developmental soccer training. Coaches focus on individually improving the athlete's skill, endurance, agility and teamwork. The academy is run under the supervision of Max McRae, one of BC's premier youth development coaches.
Ages: 5-8 Cost: $125 Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm *Early Bird Rate: $110.00 (register before December 9, 2011)
Ages: 9-15 Cost: $175 Time: 5:00pm-6:30pm *Early Bird Rate: $160.00 (register before December 9, 2011)
Table Tennis
The Shuttlesport Douglas College Table Tennis Academy is geared for those who want to improve their game and play competitive table tennis as part of a team. It is run under the direction of Performance Director Arif (Al) Mawani and expert coach David Gatiss. This Sunday program will cover: Basic, intermediate, and advanced skills, game tactics, competitive ladder and preparation for competitions, and fitness and movement skills.
Ages: 9-18
Sundays Cost: $184.40 Time: 12:00pm-3:00pm
