You cannot save your work on the computers in the labs. We recommend that you use an USB flash drive. You can purchase USB drives from the College Bookstore.
Alternatively, you can attach files to an email message and send the message to your personal email account.

Coping with Version Incompatibility
The software in Douglas College labs may also be an older or newer version than the software on your home computer. This may present difficulties when you try to open files. The best way to deal with such problems is to save your file as the older version, which is an option available to you in most applications.
To save your document in a different format do the following:
- Select File > Save As in the application you are using. The Save As window opens.
If it is an Office 2007 application, click on the Office button. Then select Save As.
- Give your document a filename.
- Click the down arrow to the left of the Save As Type field. A drop-down list of program versions appears.

- Select a version from this list.
- Click Save.
