Anish Bania, BS (Babson College, MA), MBA (Marymount)
Having started my own business in the past and worked in another start-up, I want to bring my passion in business to the classrooms. To supplement textbook theories and principles, I bring more than 10 years experience in marketing, finance, operations and management in the consumer products industry, government contracting, business research and consulting. My personal areas of interests are in small business management, globalization, technology and effect of cultures on management philosophy. In addition to my academic pursuits, I also love to spend time with my two young daughters and enjoy the BC outdoors.
Laurel Donaldson, With studies in Psychology and Business, (Honours BA), Western Ontario) MBA (Ivey Business School, UWO)
Laurel has experience in social and marketing research, banking, accounting and small business consulting, Laurel is well aware that working with people is a large part of working in business. Thus she emphasizes the development of interpersonal and communication skills in her classes. She attempts to create an active learning environment where students feel comfortable participating in discussions and asking questions. When not assisting students to develop management skills, or researching management and active learning strategies, Laurel might be found travelling the world and increasing her understanding and appreciation of different cultures. Laurel believes that her role is more of a "facilitator of learning" than a teacher. Students are expected to put a great deal of effort into their studies in order to gain valuable knowledge and skills. Laurel attempts to bring students beyond the level of "knowing" and into the level of "understanding.
Tell me, and I will forget.
Show me, and I will remember.
Involve me, and I will understand.
