Associate of Arts Degree (Communications)
What is an Associate of Arts Degree?
An Associate of Arts Degree is a university transferable academic credential awarded to students upon successful completion of 60 university transferable credits. In most cases, students transferring to a university can enter the third year of a four-year bachelor's degree.
Associate of Arts Degree - specialization in Communications
You can earn an Associate of Arts Degree with a specialization in Communications in two years with full-time study. You'll complete a core set of Communications courses, as well as other Arts courses, for a total of 60 credits. This credential will provide you with the knowledge you need to get started on a career in communciations, or transfer into a related university degree program.
Prerequisites
To gain entry into the certificate in communications program, you must meet the admission requirements for the Faculty of Literature, Language and Performing Arts, which are:
- Douglas College General Admission Requirements
- English 12 with a minimum grade of "B", OR approved substitution

Program start date
This is an open enrolment program, which means you can start in Fall (September), Winter (January) or Summer (May) semester.
