Ellen Edwards CDP Student Award of Distinction
New Westminster Award Recipient returns Honour to Douglas College Students
Ellen Edwards, long-time New Westminster resident and retired NETWERCC executive director (now the BC Career Development Association) has been the recipient of several lifetime achievement awards for her outstanding contribution to the career development practitioner sector.
A list of Ellen's awards include local, provincial and national recognition, including several from Douglas College for her tireless promotion of the Douglas College Career Development Practitioner Programs.
Upon her retirement, the Douglas College, Faculty of Child, Family and Community Studies established The Ellen Edwards CDP Student Award of Distinction. This Award in her name is a way to give back to the students she admires for their dedication and commitment to helping others in their search for satisfying work and careers. Each year a financial award will be given to a student in a Career Development Practitioner Program.
"This award will especially help students juggling family and work demands" commented Dr. Cheryl Jeffs, CDP Continuing Education faculty member.
