First Recipient of the Ellen Edwards CDP Student Award

On March 19 2008, Joanna Beemster, Career Development Practitioner (CDP) Student, CFCS CE was honoured as the first recipient of the Ellen Edwards CDP Student Award. Ellen Edwards, one of the original co-developers of the Career Development Practitioner Program presented Joanna a $500 cheque at the Tea and Awards ceremony. Ellen retired in 2005 from NETWERCC (now ENET) and Cheryl Jeffs established this annual Award to recognize Ellen's contribution to the program and her ongoing commitment to Douglas College students. A message from Johanna Beemster
It was an honour to be the first to receive the generous Ellen Edwards CDP Student Award. The award will help to facilitate my goal of completing the Career Development Practitioner Certificate program by June 2008. The program is providing me with a solid foundation to develop the skills that will allow me to join the ranks of those known to be the best in this field.
