CDP Certification: Getting Started on Your Application
Applying to become a BC Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP)? Get a head start on your application process by attending this interactive, hands-on workshop. Learn how to effectively compile your statements of evidence and develop a comprehensive portfolio to support your CCDP application. This six-hour workshop will enable participants to develop a detailed outline and get started on compiling their *portfolio.
Each workshop consists of two Thursday evenings 1830-2130.

Learn how to address the employment outcomes of people with learning difficulties and disabilities. Effective leadership and staff training improve employment outcomes: This can happen in your organization. We have found that professionals, who work with people with learning difficulties or disabilities, benefit from a comprehensive understanding of the training and employment processes that support individuals into successful, long term employment outcomes. The Do It Right approach will help you understand the key elements of the supported employment process, and enable you to take a leadership role, in increasing employment outcomes. Required Textbook: Real Work for Real Pay: Inclusive Employment for People with Disabilities, Wehman, Paul, 2007 (available from the Douglas College New Westminster Bookstore).
Instructors: Bob Logelin, BA, MEd. Bob has been training and employing people with learning difficulties and disabilities for over 25 years. He has received numerous awards for his work including the DRN Award of Excellence. Bob is the Department Head of ASE Programs at Douglas College, and was the Principal of Victoria Vocational College and Vice President of Cosmic Construction. He is the author of “Standards for Best Practice: A Guide to Effective Training” and “Employment Program Standards” (MCFD).
Manon Gelinas is the Manager of North Shore Employment Connexions, a successful, values based, SE program for PWD, recently supporting over 30 individuals into quality employment situations.

Job Club Leadership Training (JCLT)
New 2009 Job Finding Club Leadership Facilitator Manual (included)
Douglas College in partnership with ENET. Job Club Leaders help clients find a suitable job within the shortest feasible time period. Become certified and learn how to facilitate Job Clubs using the Azrin model of demonstration, practice feedback and positive reinforcement. JCLT is an intense 35hrs (one week).
