Pre and Post Natal Fitness Certification - A Complete Soul Mind Body Approach
This certification is designed to prepare both fitness professionals and other healthcare providers (chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, etc.) to work with the pre and post natal population.
You will learn:
- Exercise guidelines
- Par Med X for Pregnancy considerations
- Relative and absolute contraindications for exercise during pregnancy
- Current core and pelvic floor training methods for pregnancy and postpartum
- Current research for treatment/prevention of diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles)
- Postural assessment and correction
- Pre and post natal symptoms to consider when training
- Nutritional guidelines
- Functional exercises using mind body awareness to improve strength and flexibility
- Functional exercises and mind body techniques in preparation for child birth and beyond
- To provide positive and encouraging support (emotionally and physically)
Part 1 - Pre and Post Natal Theory

Part 2 - Pre and Post Natal Practical
The practical portion of the Pre and Post Natal Certification enables you to practice your skills and apply the theory. A small group setting allows time for each individual to perform client assessments. Your practical skills will be evaluated through individual case scenarios.
*Pre-requisite: In order to become certified as a Pre and Post Natal Fitness Consultant you must have current certification as a weight trainer, fitness instructor or personal trainer. Massage Therapists, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and other health professionals may also attend for continuing education credits but do not qualify to complete the certification. Approved for six BCRPA credits and four Can Fit Pro credits Part 2 can be attended for CEC credits if you are already pre and post natal certified. In order to complete your certification, you are required to complete a take home exam and submit a video for your practical evaluation.
