Douglas College offers a range of credit and non-credit programs that are designed to meet your learning needs.
Credit Programs
Douglas College Degrees - Douglas College now offers you several career-related Bachelor's degrees. These programs are usually completed over four years and the degree is granted by Douglas College. Douglas College degrees are approved by the Government Degree Quality Assessment Board.
Partnership Bachelor Degrees - Partnership degrees offer you the opportunity to complete two, three or all four years of a degree program at Douglas College (generally completing the final one or two years at the partnering institution), and earning the credential from the partnering institution.
Associate Degrees - Douglas College offers many Associate Degree options that allow you to transfer into university with a lower GPA than other students who don't have this credential. You'll enjoy priority registration - and increase your employability - with this 60-credit degree.
Diplomas - Diplomas are offered for many programs, providing graduates with employer-valued skills and knowledge. Diplomas are usually earned over a two-year period made up of 60 course credits and program-specific requirements.
Certificates - these 30-credit designations deliver targeted work and skill-enhancing learning experiences. Certificates are usually completed over one year.
Citations - are awarded to graduates of specially designed programs including those developed to assist individuals with barriers to employment. Students identify realistic, achievable career goals and make plans to reach that goal.
University Transfer - Douglas College offers over 500 courses in 35 subject areas, usually at the first- and second-year levels, which can be used towards degrees or other credentials at universities or other select institutions. We also recognize university transfer credits from other institutions.
Block Transfers - In addition to individually transferable credits, many block transfer opportunities exist for diploma and certificate program graduates to move into the third year of several University degree programs.
Career Programs - With 26 career programs, Douglas College provides a broad selection of Diploma, Certificate and Degree options to provide graduates with the entry credential demanded by prospective employers.
Co-operative Education Option - this popular option allows students in many programs to earn college credits while gaining practical experience in work placements linked to their field of study.
Unique Career Programs - Douglas College offers nine truly unique career programs that you won't find at other public institutions in BC. Graduates enjoy excellent job opportunities.
Non-Credit Programs and Opportunities
Continuing Education - in addition to the many credit courses which may be offered at times convenient to working students, Douglas College offers a broad range of focused courses and workshops aimed at enhancing skills and competencies in a variety of personal and work-related subjects.
The Training Group - specializes in responsive career and workplace training solutions. The Training Group designs and delivers a range of specialized programs for the specific needs of individuals, employers, industry groups as well as government agencies.
