If you are looking for a career that makes a real difference in a rewarding and challenging field, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) program might be right for you. In the HCSW Certificate program, you'll get the skills and knowledge you need to care for people who require assistance to meet their physical and mental health needs.

Program highlights

Study options

The HCSW Certificate program is a combination of two other well-respected programs: the Health Care Assistant Certificate program (formerly Home/Support Resident Care Attendant Citation) and the Community Mental Health Worker Citation program.

Because of its unique structure, you can choose from three study options and credentials:

  • the 3-semester Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) Certificate; or
  • the 2-semester Health Care Assistant (HCA) Certificate; or
  • the 1-semester Community Mental Health Worker (CMHW) Citation

If you have already completed either the Health Care Assistant Certificate (formerly Home Support/Resident Care Attendant Citation) or the Community Mental Health Worker Citation, you can upgrade to earn the full Health Care Support Worker Certificate.

For more information on study and program entry options, see Ways to study.
