Hospitality Management

Welcome to Your Office

Get the training you need to become a hotel or restaurant manager - in addition to several other careers in the hospitality industry - in the Hospitality Management diploma program at Douglas College.

If you're looking for an exciting career in our dynamic Tourism and Hospitality industry or if you're already experienced in the field and want greater skills for advancement, apply to the program today.

Experience for the World

As a Hospitality Management student, you will learn in the classroom as well as at special events and hospitality sites.

The Hospitality Management program has been developed in conjunction with the BC Government, hospitality industry and other institutions, creating a common provincial core of courses. This provides graduates with the option of working immediately or transferring into degree studies in hospitality.

Learning with experienced industry professionals, you'll gain skills in areas such as front desk procedures, managing food and beverage operations, budgeting, marketing and promotions and convention management. The training prepares you for future leadership roles in the industry.

As you gain new skills, you will also gain valuable experience and contacts by managing and working in special community and Douglas College events. Many of our students also gain seasonal jobs - or permanent full-time jobs as graduates - at the special hiring fair we hold every spring.

Once you start working in the hospitality industry, you'll also have a world of options. Hospitality is truly an international industry and your skills will be in demand from Whistler to Australia - in hotels, resorts, food and beverage operations, cruise lines and more.

In addition, if you want to complete a university degree in the hospitality sector, our program offers block transfer credits to universities across Canada and in Hawaii, Switzerland and Australia.

Welcome to the Hospitality Management Program Web site. There is a lot of information here, so please explore or contact us for more program information.
