Today, over 63 million people have learned German as their second language, and over 100 million speak it as their native tongue. At Douglas College, you can explore the language, literature, and culture of German-speaking countries, whether as part of your general education, in preparation for further education or for an international professional career.
If you have little or no knowledge of the German language, you'll develop basic communicative skills and practice your conversational German in class and in the lab. If you already have some background in German, you can build your confidence by further developing your reading and writing skills and deepening your knowledge of the culture.
For a complete list of German courses, check the Douglas College Calendar. You will find the schedule of our current course offerings by clicking here. Select the term and then choose "Languages" from the "Subject" menu.
