University Transfer

Because the courses at Douglas are equivalent to the courses taught at university, you can transfer any credits you earn in Douglas College modern language courses directly to arts programs at many universities, including Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria.

If you complete 60 credits of university-transferable courses, you can earn an Associate of Arts Degree. You can take Modern Languages courses as part of your studies towards your Associate Degree.

For information on the transferability of certain courses, please see the BC Transfer Guide.

Why university transfer?

It's smart to start your university degree at Douglas. Here's why:

  • Save money - You can save up to $4,000 by taking your first two years of courses at Douglas, as compared to similar programs at universities.
  • Close to home - Douglas College's New Westminster campus is centrally located and just steps from the SkyTrain.
  • Great teachers - Our instructors are active performers and are passionate about teaching, not just about research like some university professors. Plus, because of a high faculty to student ratio, you'll get more face time with your teachers.
  • Same courses - You'll receive an education that's on par with the first two years of a similar program at university - with all of the above benefits!
