Robert Caldwell's Bachelor of Music Degree in Percussion from the University of Victoria, his studies in Indonesian Gamelan music at Simon Fraser University, and his special interest in electronic and world music have enabled him to fuse a wide variety of musical styles and traditions. Performing with the Victoria Symphony and as a freelance percussionist for many years, Robert has also toured Canadian schools for more than a decade with his ensembles, Digital Guise and Percussionworks!. In addition to his role as performer, composer, educator and Music Coordinator at Douglas College, he also teaches courses at Trinity Western University and Kwantlen University College.
