Eric Hannan

Eric Hannan has been an active conductor in Vancouver for the past sixteen years, and has been a member of the music faculty at Douglas College for the past thirteen, conducting choral ensembles and teaching solo voice. In addition to his duties at Douglas College, Eric conducts the Vancouver Cantata Singers, one of Vancouver's flagship semi-professional choral ensembles.

Eric completed a Bachelor of Music degree in composition at the University of British Columbia. He went on to masters and doctoral studies in conducting at the Universities of Michigan and Illinois. More recently, he studied conducting with Frieder Bernius at the Manitoba Summer Academy. Before taking the position at Douglas College, Eric served on the music faculty at UBC, where he conducted various choirs and taught conducting. Eric is active locally as choral clinician and guest conductor, and has recently been on the faculty of the Nelson Summer Songfest, assisting with the choral and solo voice programs.
