Note: The application deadline for all Music scholarships is May 5.

Entrance Scholarships

Each year, several entrance scholarships are available to incoming music students. Thanks to a generous bequest from Hugh Livingstone Maze we are able to offer more than $3,000 in aid to incoming music students each year, including:

  • Douglas College Music Scholarships
  • Meiji University Mandolin OB Music Club Scholarship (for a guitar student)
  • Hugh Livingston Maze Music Scholarships
  • Performance-Based Scholarship (full tuition for two years)

No application is required. To be considered for these scholarships, students must:

  • Audition during the earliest audition period (late April) and achieve a high performance standard.
  • Meet the academic entrance requirements for the College
  • Meet the entrance requirements for the University Transfer Music Program

Students transferring from the Basic Musicianship Program to the UT program are automatically considered for entrance scholarships.

A number of scholarships are also available to students continuing in the University Transfer Program.

  • David Peterkin Memorial Music Scholarship (Basic Musicianship)
  • Walter G. Robertson Memorial Music Scholarship (General)
  • Silverman Music Scholarship (Performance)
  • Henry Waack Music Scholarships (General)
  • Len Whiteley Memorial Music Scholarship (Band)

These scholarships are available to returning students who have achieved a record of excellence in performance, academic work or both, and must be used for second year studies at Douglas College. No application is required.
