University Transfer
With the University Transfer (UT) program, you can start your music studies at Douglas, then transfer up to 60 credits into a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music program at many universities, including UBC, SFU and UVic.
The program includes private lessons in your chosen instrument or voice, as well as class piano, music theory and history classes, performing ensembles and electives.
Upon successful completion of all two-year program requirements at Douglas College, students will receive a Diploma in Performing Arts - Music.
It’s smart to start your degree at Douglas. Here’s why:
- Save money – You can save up to $4,000 by taking your first two years of courses at Douglas, as compared to similar programs at universities.
- Close to home – Douglas College’s New Westminster campus is centrally located and just steps from the SkyTrain.
- Great teachers – Our music instructors are active performers and are passionate about teaching, not just about research like some university professors. Plus, because of a high faculty to student ratio, you’ll get more face time with your teachers.
- Same courses – You’ll receive an education that’s on par with the first two years of a similar program at university – with all of the above benefits!
