Office Assistant Citation

If you've been out of the work force for a while and need a quick refresher course, or are looking for a short-term program leading to an entry-level office position, the Office Assistant Citation Program at Douglas College is right for you. By taking the program full-time, you'll be able to complete it in four months (one semester).

The program can be taken full-time or part-time depending on your needs. The full-time program begins in September, while the part-time program begins in September and January. You will need two semesters to complete the part-time program.

Courses

While in the Office Assistant Citation Program you'll take courses in Business Commununications and Procedures, Employability Skills for Office Personnel, Microcomputer Applications, Keyboarding Skill Development and Administrative Procedures. For detailed course descriptions, see the College Calendar.

Further education

Most of the credits earned in the Office Assistant Citation Program can be transferred to one our certificate programs.  Our certificate programs transfer into the Office Administration Diploma Program, which can be transferred to Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Full-time students start in January (Winter semester); part-time students can start in September (Fall semester) or January (Winter semester).
