Psychology Laboratory

The Psychology Laboratories at Douglas College are used for lab classes and offer numerous services for Psychology students. If you want more information, drop by the New Westminster (Rm 3475) or David Lam Campuses (B2270) and speak to any of the lab technicians.

Bulletin Boards

Both the New Westminster and David Lam Campus and Psychology Labs use a number of bulletin boards to communicate important information for students. Frequently, there will be articles posted which provide unique insights into the field of psychology. Also, seminar or conference notices will be placed on these boards. Students are encouraged to check and read the bulletin boards frequently.

Experiments

The lab technicians are available to help you when you choose subjects, collect your data, analyze, interpret and write up your results. You are also welcome to borrow the equipment you need to run your experiments from the lab. Equipment is loaned out for a period of one week. In addition, if you need space to carry out your experiment, you are welcome to book the lab (as long as there are no classes booked). To book lab times, see any of the lab technicians.

Open Hours

As open hours change on a week by week basis, you should consult the white board located outside the front door of each lab to determine open hours availability.
During open hours, you are welcome to use the Psychology Lab to study and conduct your research. In addition, lab technicians are available to assist you with any questions or concerns you might have regarding your assignments, textbooks, or courses. Please come and see us, we're very friendly!

Research Papers/Assignments

If you have a research paper or psychology written assignment to complete, the lab technicians can assist you.  We can't tell you what topic to research nor will we do the research for you.  It is up to you to conduct the research and write the paper. However we are happy to help you with information about APA writing style and using library resources to find articles.
