Is this program right for me?

Do I have to be a jock?

No. Sport Science is designed for those who want a career in activity-related fields. An interest in movement, health and performance are the keys to your success in this program.

Can I study part-time?

The Sport Science Diploma can be completed on a full- or part-time basis.

When, Where, How Much, How Long?

Classes start in September or January, depending on which semester you choose to start in.

Sport Science classes take place at the New Westminster campus.

The approximate cost for full-time study (15 credits per semester) is $1300 per semester for tuition, plus student fees, textbooks and other course expenses. Please refer to the Program Costs Guide for more details.

If you choose to study full-time (15 credits per semester), you can complete the Sport Science Diploma in as little as two years. Otherwise, the number of courses you choose to take per semester will determine how long it takes you to finish.

What courses will I take?

Depending on the path you choose, you can take courses in sports administration, physical growth and development, bio-mechanics, exercise physiology, sport history, sport psychology, nutrition, individual and team activities, and health. What are the university transfer options?

The Sport Science Diploma is transferrable to a variety of related degree programs at other post-secondary institutions. For more details, see the University Transfer page.

What are the career opportunities?

A Diploma in Sport Science will qualify you for a variety of careers in sports, recreation and wellness. If you use the Diploma to transfer into a related university degree program, many more career opportunities will become available to you. For more details, see the Career Opportunities page.

How and when do I apply?

If you are applying to start the program in Fall semester (September), you must apply by April 30 of the same year.

If you are applying to start the program in Winter semester (January), you must apply by October 1 of the previous year.
