THE AUDITION
On each audition day applicants will attend a two-hour group workshop in the morning and will then audition individually in the afternoon.
The group workshop consists of improvisations, basic movement exercises, cold-readings and a short writing exercise. There is no preparation required for this workshop. You will need to wear loose comfortable clothing that is appropriate for movement work. You will work in bare feet for at least part of the workshop. The group workshop gives the auditors a chance to observe you in a group environment and provides you with an opportunity to warm up and prepare for the afternoon audition.
The Audition Panel consists of Theatre Program faculty. They will select applicants who show the most potential for a career in the performing arts and for the successful completion of the program. You will be able to ask the panel specific questions concerning the Program and the college, but specific criticism of your audition will not be possible during or at any time after your audition.
For more information please see the Theatre Information Booklet. (pdf version here)
