Before you Apply

Before you apply, check the College Calendar to make sure Douglas College offers the program or courses you want. It is important to consider the following questions:

  • Do I meet the general Douglas College admission requirements?
  • When does the program start?
  • What is the deadline to apply?
  • What are the program admission requirements?
  • What courses are in the program?
  • Does the course(s) require prerequisites? If so, have I met the prerequisites?
  • Do I need to submit transcripts to prove I have the prerequisites? How do I do this? Is there a deadline?
  • Will I be required to write an assessment or placement test?
  • How long is the course or program?
  • How much are the tuition fees? Can I afford it?
  • Will I need a student loan?
  • Will I be attending full-time or part-time?
  • What is considered to be an early application?
  • What do I/can I do if my program has a waiting list?

Academic Advisors offer program-specific information sessions to help you answer these questions. Visit the Information Session Schedule or phone 604-527-5478 for more information.
