WELCOME TO DOUGLAS COLLEGE
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Douglas College and the Aboriginal Student Services Centre. My name is Dave Seaweed, Aboriginal Student Services Coordinator and I am available to meet Aboriginals, Métis, and Inuit students attending Douglas College at either New Westminster or David Lam Campuses.
I am taking this opportunity to inform you that the Centre, located on the 4th Floor of the New Westminster Campus, Room 4830 provides you with the following:
- Quiet place for studying, reading, writing or just taking a break
- Place to meet, connect and make long lasting friends with other Learners
- Computer use and access to the internet and telephone
There are many services provided for registered Aboriginals, Métis, and Inuit students at Douglas College such as:
- Culturally appropriate support services, activities and events
- Assisting prospective students, mediates and advocates for students
- Resources and perspectives not found anywhere else within the College
- Access to community resource information, including connections to events
Liaison between student and sponsors; sponsors and the College.
These are just a few of the ways I can help you. I look forward to meeting with you and supporting you to be a successful Learner while you are at Douglas College.
