WELCOME TO DOUGLAS COLLEGE

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Douglas College and the Aboriginal Student Services Centre. My name is Dave Seaweed, Aboriginal Student Services Coordinator and I am available to meet Aboriginals, Métis, and Inuit students attending Douglas College at either New Westminster or David Lam Campuses.

I am taking this opportunity to inform you that the Centre, located on the 4th Floor of the New Westminster Campus, Room 4830 provides you with the following:

Quiet place for studying, reading, writing or just taking a break
Place to meet, connect and make long lasting friends with other Learners
Computer use and access to the internet and telephone

There are many services provided for registered Aboriginals, Métis, and Inuit students at Douglas College such as:

Culturally appropriate support services, activities and events
Assisting prospective students, mediates and advocates for students
Resources and perspectives not found anywhere else within the College
Access to community resource information, including connections to events

Liaison between student and sponsors; sponsors and the College.

These are just a few of the ways I can help you. I look forward to meeting with you and supporting you to be a successful Learner while you are at Douglas College.
