Team Co-op is proud to introduce a second year Marketing Management student, Hiro Endo. Hiro, an international student from Japan, is extremely courteous, enthusiastic, and able to get along well with people. His big smile and sincerity make everyone feel welcome and comfortable around him. This summer, he succeeded in obtaining a placement at the Japanese Community Volunteers Association as a Special Events Co-ordinator.
"The Co-op term has enhanced my work experience more than one step above my studies. The Co-op program is an excellent program to provide students with practical work experience," said Hiro.
Hiro used to be a shy person. To overcome his shyness, Hiro participated in many things that interested him. After meeting new people and enhancing his communication skills, he now loves interacting with a variety of people. Hiro believes that fear is a state of mind. He succeeded in conquering his fears by actively participating in events at school and in the community around him.
"I greatly appreciate the Co-op program for giving me this great opportunity to work in Canada. This program is not only for international students but also for all students at Douglas College. If you want to jump start your career and gain valuable work experience, the Co-op program will be your gateway to success. In addition, the Co-op staff are exceptionally helpful and committed to helping students to seek employment," recommended Hiro.
As a Special Events Co-ordinator, Hiro has learned to work effectively in a team environment as well as to work independently. He also has learned how to set priorities and to manage time well. Above all, he has identified his career path - an interesting job working with nice people in a community-based organization.
