Upgrading with Developmental Studies (DVST)

Need to upgrade your reading, writing, or math to prepare for college and university studies? The Developmental Studies (DVST) department is here to help. We also teach the learning and study skills that you'll need to succeed. You can start at a basic level and go right through to the college-prep level. If your goal is to do a program in Business then check out our Pre-Business Foundation courses. If your goal is to do a program in Child, Family and Community Studies, then check out our Human Services Foundation courses. 

English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language (ESL) programs and courses at Douglas College are designed for successful students with ambitious academic goals. Choose from a wide range of academic preparatory courses to get ready for college or university-level courses. You can also enrol in one of our Immersion programs, giving you the opportunity to live, study and work in an all-English environment.
