Become a Peer Tutor
Benefits of being a tutor:

- As of July 1, 2010 earn $10.87/hour
Required qualifications:
- Must be registered in at least ONE (1) CREDIT COURSE at Douglas College or an equivalent post-secondary institution.
- "B" Average or better in 12 credits of work completed at Douglas College (or equivalent courses elsewhere) and,
- "B" AVERAGE OR BETTER IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- ENGLISH 1130 (or equivalent writing course). The applicant will also need proficiency ("B" average or better) in a content area such as English Literature, Criminology, Music, Psychology or History. Excellent writing skills are required.
- MATH COURSES (from the Math or Business department). The student will also need proficiency ("B" average or better) in a content area such as Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business, or Economics.
- Good working knowledge of MS Word.
- Good critical thinking skills.
- Good employability skills (dependable, able to maintain confidentiality).
- Good interpersonal skills.
International students are welcome to apply. An original copy of a social insurance number (SIN) is required. International students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credits each for the fall and winter terms and a minimum of three (3) credits for the summer term. Also, international students must have been enrolled in the preceding fall and winter terms in order to be eligible to work in the summer term.
