Face-to-Face Tutoring

Meet with a Peer Tutor

All students registered in at least one Douglas College course are eligible to meet with peer tutors from the Learning Centre. We will help you develop skills to continue to succeed in your Douglas College courses.

Our philosophy is to help students become more independent learners. Peer tutors can help you with general academic skills such as writing and math. Tutoring for course concepts is also available, depending on the knowledge and background of our available tutors.

We offer several ways to get help from peer tutors, depending on what type of help you need.

Regular, Ongoing Tutoring

Do you want help throughout the term with one of your courses? You may sign up to work with a peer tutor for 50-minute, weekly appointments beginning the third week of the semester and continuing through the last day of classes. These tutors will help you develop study and writing skills.

Drop-in Tutoring

Peer tutors will be available in the Learning Centre throughout the term for a limited number of 25-minute drop-in appointments. You may sign up for these appointments up to one week in advance by stopping by the Learning Centres during our open hours.
