What is our philosophy of tutoring writing online?
The goal of our writing tutoring is to help students develop their writing skills and, in the process, improve the writing they submit to their instructors.
A crucial aspect of all our tutoring is that we aim to empower our students so that they can be successful independently.
In short, we put a high priority on the development of the writer. The individual paper we help with is to some degree just a means to the end of developing the writer. When we are tutoring effectively, we help student writers with a paper today in a way that helps them to write better papers tomorrow.
If you are a Douglas College student, our online tutoring service provides you with feedback on your writing. We provide our tutoring through email.
Our tutors are students at BC universities and colleges; they are experienced academic writers who have firsthand knowledge and experience of what college instructors expect from written assignments. We train our tutors to guide you, the student writer, with advice about how to revise your papers to better meet instructor expectations. What we don't do is fix or write your assignments for you.
Our online peer tutors can help you with:
