What our participants say . . .

"Without Skills Connect and my hard work I would not be where I am now so thanks a lot to Douglas College¿s great team members. I am still learning a lot and every day I set new goals in my new nursing career here in BC." (Elvan, RN)

"I realized that completing the license requirements was not adequate to land a job. I needed to work on other areas ¿ networking, online application, resumes, cover letters, references, interview preparation, building confidence and communication strengths. I guarantee that without support and help from the Skills Connect Program, I might still be lost and wandering around." (Sharon, RN)

"In short, the Skills Connect Program was the right program for me at the right time. It connected me with professionals in my discipline, as well as employers." (Waeel , Pharmacist)

"I have been receiving lots of email from Skills Connect about courses and programs that I can use to better fit here and better find a related job. This is extremely valuable information for IMG¿s. I want to thank my new country, Canada, for all the support and kindness toward its immigrants and I hope to be a type of doctor that everyone wishes to have as his/her family doctor." (MG, Resident Physician, Family Practice)

"I really appreciate the opportunity that Canada and specifically British Columbia has offered us. I am committed and ready to take the most advantage of my residency training and get ready to serve our people and country with as high of standards as our Canadian trained colleagues." (HS, Orthopaedic Surgery Resident)

"I wouldn¿t have done it this far without all these wonderful people at Douglas College Skills Connect for Immigrants program. Words are not enough to thank them for all that they offered. I owe them more than thanks; I owe them the future they opened the door for. All my family and myself says thank you very, very much." (ZK, LPN)
