Our new Centre of Excellence links the College and the community in projects aimed at promoting healthy communities. We link faculty and students with agencies to meet agency goals by pairing agencies' needs with our community service learning and community based research expertise.

We work closely with the Faculties of Child, Family and Community Studies , Health Sciences and Science and Technology (Sports Sciences)

Our Resources:

  • Faculty members
    • Content experts, prepared at the masters or doctoral level
    • Interested in engagement in a wide array of community-based research and community service-learning
  • Students
    • Background and experience in community and organizations
    • Studying at the Diploma or Degree level
    • Some with research methodologies courses
  • Community connections
    • Our faculty and students are deeply embedded in community practice
  • Space and Infrastructure
    • Our dedicated space and staff and administrative support is used to manage and support the Centre activities

We provide space and organization for a range of health promotion activities such as health authority clinics, meeting groups, student activities, presentations, conferences and task forces. For the use of our Centre space, see our space booking information or contact chcp@douglas.bc.ca
