CHCP Roles

We serve as an interface for interdisciplinary student/faculty/agency  projects related to promoting healthy communities. We Will:

SEEK OUT partnership projects

• Canvass agencies for projects and solicit participation by faculty and students; see Projects Needing Partners  and the  CHCP Brochure

CONNECT agencies and faculty/students in the Faculties of:

• Child, Family and Community Studies
• Health Sciences
• Science and Technology Sports Sciences

ORGANIZE and oversee project activities

• Develop and use a database of projects and faculty/student resources
• Meet with agencies to discuss project needs and plans
• Assist agencies when appropriate with funding proposals for projects with CHCP
• Assist with the development of Student/Agency Contracts
• Assist with the development of Project Charters
• Provide financial management of project accounts
• Provide space and logistical arrangements for meetings and project events
• Oversee project implementation and evaluation as needed
• Maintain a website with links to various resources for agencies, faculty and students

The Centre also plays a role in education and capacity building by offering workshops on community-based research, community service-learning and health promotion activities
