The success of Green Links projects depends on the interest, support
and cooperative efforts of community members. You can play an important
role in preserving and improving your local urban environment by getting
involved with Green Links activities happening near you. Plant a butterfly
garden, put up a bird house, help clean up a ravine!
If you are interested in volunteering with us, here are some things you
can help us with:
Salvage plants from sites under development which can be used in our
habitat enhancements.
Help maintain our nursery at Colony Farm.
Plant native species in community green spaces.
Help us in the office.
Assist in planning and implementing community awareness events.
Participate in Eco-Education workshops.
Clean up streams and green spaces
The Adopt-A-Site Program is an opportunity for a community group or an
organization to assume responsibility for the maintenance and well-being
of a site which has been planted by Green Links. In most cases, the organization
adopting the site was involved in the planting as well, which provides
the opportunity for the group to monitor the progress and development
of the site.
